One of a Kind piece - Navajo ring

Beautiful sterling silver ring set with a stunning Red Mountain (Nevada) turquoise, signed by Navajo artist Kari Begay. Coming from a long line of Native American jewelers, the Begay family is well known and respected in the industry, and has received numerous awards for the quality and excellence of its creations.

Kari Begay is known for creating beautiful geometric designs that she makes with the overlay technique.
 

This process is composed of two flat pieces of the same size, nested one on the other. The one on top is cut with a pattern and acts as a "stencil". It is applied to the bottom one, creating a silver background. This background is oxidized and covered with patina to create contrast between the two pieces.
