Beautiful Zuni earrings entirely set with small Sleeping Beauty turquoises (Arizona) on sterling silver.

Each of these earrings features a stunning cactus flower, a well-known symbol in Native American jewelry. Imagine the precise and meticulous work required to hand-cut each of these turquoises into a teardrop shape and mount them in a serrated setting. This jewelry technique is called Needlepoint, a name perfectly suited to this ancient process in which Zuni artists excel.

The Sleeping Beauty turquoise is beautiful, emblematic and rare. As the mine is no longer in operation, the artists work with stocks that only allow them to work this turquoise in small volumes.
