Navajo pottery - One of a Kind piece

This beautiful handmade pottery is representative of the contemporary style of pottery created by the Navajo, called "etched pottery".

The potters who make etched pottery first form pieces of different volumes, then paint them in beautiful colors (usually gradations of complementary tones). These pieces are then hand-engraved with natural or geometric motifs. 

Admire this superb gradient from ochre to turquoise, reminiscent of the blue skies of the American West over the red soil of the canyons. Eagle feather motifs, emblematic of Native culture, and designs reminiscent of mountains are particularly recognizable.

The pottery is signed by the artist who made it.
