One of a Kind piece - Navajo Buckle belt
Belt buckle crafted by Leonard Nez, made of sterling silver and adorned with a stunning Sonoran turquoise (Nevada).
Leonard Nez, a remarkable Navajo artisan. His work is distinguished by precise stamped patterns and a remarkable mastery of engraving. His creations highlight natural stones such as turquoise, often enhanced by oxidation techniques that accentuate contrasts and depth. Each piece reflects authentic craftsmanship, where the balance of forms and richness of detail are rooted in the Navajo cultural heritage.
On this stunning belt buckle, the turquoise reveals subtle shades blending green and blue. Its veins lend it depth and character, making each stone unique. It is set in a smooth setting, within a frame delicately carved with a groove and finely chiseled with oxidized striations. The piece is enhanced by a border of small flat teeth, which adds rhythm and texture to the design.
A silver plate enhances the design. Entirely handcrafted, it features Native American motifs on an oxidized background that accentuates the contrasts and highlights the artist’s work.
On the sides, delicate lines trace the shape of a butterfly, adding a touch of lightness. Every detail is meticulously hand-chiseled.
