One of a Kind piece
Stunning Navajo bracelet adorned with numerous beautiful Native patterns, owned by the famous artist who made it.
His stamps are his signature work, but this bracelet is different from his other pieces because he used the Tufa Cast technique, one of the oldest jewelry processes used by the Navajo:
The artist takes a mold made of volcanic stone (tufa) and divises it in two parts. In the first part, he carves a design of his choice, melts silver in, and tightly covers it with the second part of the mold. Once the silver is hard, the mold eventually breaks, making this piece a unique item. This technique creates a jewel of traditionnal rough aspect on which we can clearly see the beautiful lumps of tufa stone.
This superb bracelet reveals subtle shades of silver. On its oxidized background, water-inspired motifs take shape: rain, clouds, whirlpools... A powerful and symbolic visual language, for water embodies life. It irrigates cultures and gives us the energy we need to face trials and overcome dangers.
For Native Americans, rain symbolizes fertility, rebirth and abundance, as it announces the harvests to come.
On the unoxidized part, a small cross appears, known as the “Crossroads Cross”. This symbol evokes the choices to be made in life, the decisions that guide our course.
Wearing this jewelry asserts an intimate connection with nature and maintains a link with Amerindian culture.
