One of a Kind piece - Navajo Bolo Tie
This Navajo bolo tie is a unique piece, crafted in sterling silver using the overlay technique and set with coral.
The motif represents a cactus flower, an emblematic theme in Native American jewelry. It is worked in needle point, a technique involving the cutting of coral into very fine shapes: drops, baguettes or small dots. The frame's oxidized background creates a play of contrasts, highlighting the coral's brilliance.
The overlay technique is used here. It consists of superimposing two silver plates of the same shape: the upper plate is cut with a pattern, then soldered to the lower plate. The latter is then oxidized and textured to accentuate the relief and contrast of the design.
From Western movies to runway shows, the bolo tie is an emblematic accessory of the Southwest of the USA. In everyday life, the bolo tie will accessorize your outfit with strength and originality and on your Sunday's best outfit it can be a strong and good replacement for a tie or necklace.
