Anouk Marty and her HARPO jewels collection
English translation of the fourth interview we made with our fantastic customers : we present you here Anouk Marty's incredible HARPO jewelry collection!
Hello Anouk, can you tell us who you are, what you do and how you got here?
My name is Anouk, I am 36 and I'm a photographer.
My mother has always been a photographer and we come from a family of architects going back 3 generations. We have always observed things around us, in the streets, during holidays, everywhere... I've naturally been drawn to images. I never read books, I just looked at pictures. After graduating from high school, I studied graphic arts, and during my studies I always expressed myself in photos or videos, and now that's what keeps me going!

Can you tell us a little about your style and your inspirations?
I'm drawn to an aesthetic that combines timeless elegance with a touch of bohemian chic. I appreciate clothes and accessories that emphasize refined simplicity while offering subtle, handcrafted details.
My inspirations often come from nature, travel and different world cultures. I love organic patterns, natural textures and earthy colors that evoke a sense of connection to the land and ancestral traditions. Films and music are also important sources of inspiration for me, especially those that capture the essence of adventure, discovery and creativity.

And what is your relationship with jewelry?
I've always worn a lot of jewelry. As a teenager, I stole all my mother's vintage jewelry, which she had bought in the 70s and 80s. And I often bought very ethnic jewelry myself.
I see jewelry as much more than just an accessory. To me, jewelry is a wearable work of art that has the power to complete and transform an outfit, while telling a personal story. I appreciate jewelry that has symbolic or cultural meaning, and I enjoy wearing it as an expression of my own identity and experiences. I particularly love handcrafted jewelry that is made with care and incorporates natural materials and traditional techniques. Wearing jewelry makes me feel connected to history and culture, while adding a touch of elegance and personality to my style.

What brought you to HARPO? What is your history with the brand?
One of my best friends, Laurent, knew HARPO. Several of the men around me wore HARPO. One day at my birthday party, I was introduced to Dorothée, HARPO's manager, with whom I had mutual friends. She came over and was kind enough to give me a little eagle pin. So I began to take an interest in the brand.
My best friend Christina is from the United States and she has always loved Native American art. She wore Navajo jewelry that she got directly from the States. So it was really seeing different people in my circle wearing Harpo jewelry that naturally led me to the boutique.
Apart from this little eagle, what was your first piece of HARPO jewelry?
When I was younger, around 12 or 13, my aunt or grandmother gave me all little HARPO jewels for Christmas. I didn't know the brand at all at the time, and I made the connection much later. My sister and I kept this jewelry in our jewelry boxes for years. And then I stole a pair of earrings from my mother, too, that she'd had at that famous Christmas, and one day when I was wearing them, Dorothée said to me “oh, that's HARPO you're wearing”.
And what was your latest piece of jewelry?
This little ring in the shape of a turtle. I saw it on one of the salesgirls and immediately loved it. I even gave it a little name: Boubou la tortue, because it reminds me of a friend I call that.
Can you give us a little tour of your jewelry box? Over the years, you've built up quite a collection.
Yes, I alternate jewelry with the seasons. As a necklace, I like to wear this beautiful row of turquoise stones, which I had enlarged because I didn't want it to be too close to the neck.
I'd bought these turquoise hummingbird earrings and thought I'd lost them, so I was offered the same ones in white stones and finally I found the turquoise ones, so now I have both. As earrings, I love my crosses too, very colorful.
I also have this big turquoise inlay ring, which I don't wear much because it's so big. I wear the Dry Creek turquoise ring instead.

So you've got quite a collection going... What would you like us to find ? What piece are you missing?
I'd love a candy-pink belt buckle in shell or a white one. But there's no doubt about it, a belt buckle is a timeless piece that dresses up any outfit.
How would you introduce Harpo to someone who doesn't know the company?
First of all, I'd say very spontaneously: “You know the Native American silver jewelry, the stones, the turquoises there!” And then I'd highlight their commitment and loyalty to the artists, the families who have always worked and fashioned new pieces with them. Craftsmanship is passed down from generation to generation, as at Harpo, a sorority that never stops working together. I would insist that the jewelry is handcrafted with great attention to detail, giving it a unique quality and beauty. In fact, it's like tattooing: once you've got your first piece, it's pretty hard to stop. It's addictive.
