Superb butterfly-shaped Zuni ring inlaid with mother-of-pearl, Sleeping Beauty turquoise (Arizona) and coral on sterling silver.

The butterfly is a symbol of grace, blossoming and metamorphosis.

Inlay is a Native American jewelry-making process in which real stones (most often turquoise, coral, mother-of-pearl and jet) are cut and assembled by hand to create a geometric pattern. The whole is polished to a smooth, elegant finish. 

This ring is a fine example of “channel inlay”, an inlay technique in which the stones are compartmentalized by thin silver bars.

Butterfly dimensions (H x W): 2,5cm x 3,7cm (1.1/8 inch x 1.1/2 inch)
