Stunning Navajo ring

This sterling silver ring is inlaid with a beautiful Carico Lake turquoise (Nevada).

Inlay is a Native jewelry-making process, mastered by the Zuni tribe, but here crafted by a Navajo silversmith: genuine gemstones (a beautiful green turquoise in this case), are cut and assembled by hand to create a geometric pattern. The whole is polished to a smooth, elegant finish.

This type of marquetry is called "channel inlay" and can be recognized by the fine silver bars that compartmentalize the stones.
