BA1376 mat silver and turquoise Harpo ring
- The Originals
One of a Kind piece
Navajo ring in sterling silver set with a small cabochon of Sleeping Beauty turquoise (Arizona).
This ring is made using an ancestral Navajo jewelry technique known as Tufa Cast:
The artist takes a mold of volcanic stone (tufa) and divides it into two parts. One part is carved with a motif of his choice, into which he pours molten silver. The second part covers this pattern and is firmly attached to the first. Once the silver has hardened, the piece is removed from the mold, which usually breaks, creating a unique piece. The resulting jewel has an old-fashioned, original look, on which the asperity of the tufa is clearly visible.
Here, the pattern is emblematic of Navajo jewelry, reminiscent of a moustache.
Width over phalanx: 1,8cm (0.3/4 inch)
This ring is in sterling silver.
A Navajo creation, proudly handmade in the USA.
