Navajo ring featuring a rectangle of onyx on sterling silver.
 

The band of this ring is carved with a rhombus and a small bear on each side of the stone, creating a lovely openwork effect on the skin.

The rectangle-cut onyx is surrounded by a thin silver cord, reminiscent of a lasso. Natives consider they tame the stone like a wild animal.
