Navajo ring with a beautiful Sonoran Gold turquoise (Arizona) set in sterling silver.

This ring is representative of Navajo jewelry and more particularly of the artist who made it:

The wide shank is chiseled with oxidized silver rays and half moon shaped silver pieces frame the turquoise to highlight its beauty.

You can see that the turquoise is set in a serrated setting and is surrounded by a thin silver cord, a symbol that recalls the lasso and the fact that for the Natives, the stone must be tamed like a wild animal.
