One of a Kind piece - Navajo necklace 

This beautiful Navajo necklace is made of Kingman turquoise (Arizona) Heishi beads and brushed oxidized silver beads. The silver beads come in several shapes: small, larger, or slightly flattened in the shape of a saucer.

The silver beads on this necklace are very representative of Navajo beadwork: there are beads of different diameters and shapes, such as small round beads and saucer shapes.

The making of Heishi beads is also long and meticulous: stones, shells or other raw materials are first cut, then pierced and strung on a wire, then the artist sands this string on a grinding wheel to form the Heishi beads.
