One of a Kind piece

Beautiful handmade Lakota Sioux doll in deer leather and glass beads.

More than a decoration piece or a toy for children, this doll is a real museum piece : she is entirely hand sewn and beaded. The beads that make up her outfit are small glass beads and are embroidered with the Native process called "Lazy Stitch"... a contradictory name when we know the amount of time, precision and hard-work it requires. 

From the ribbons that tie the two long braids of her hair to the making of her moccasins and her knife holder, nothing is left to chance. In an impressive way the artist who conceived this doll realized each piece of clothing separately, a true work of dressmaker! Fringed shawl, long skirt, moccasin boots, belt... Thus this pretty doll offers a very faithful image of the traditional and authentic outfit of a Native Sioux woman.
