Bandana - Limited edition

For the Native people of North America, the world is divided into 4 elements: FIRE, WATER, EARTH and AIR.

We have decided to represent these 4 elements in the form of Bandanas, emblematic accessories of the United States. Initially used as a scarf at the end of the 20th century by the "Highway men", as an aesthetical hairstyle by some tribes, and as a protection from sun and dust by bikers of the roads of the West… this accessory became over time an essential fashion item.

These 4 essential elements of life come together here to form the "Zia Cross" whose symbol represents: the 4 seasons, the 4 ages of life, the 4 states of mind and the 4 moments of the day in order to define the right balance for a perfect harmony. 

When putting these four bandanas together, you can also observe the four colors of the Medicine Wheel representing the delicate cycle of life (although different interpretations are observed according to the tribes), originally: White, Yellow, Red (here terra cota) and Black (here navy blue), which symbolize: NORTH, EAST, SOUTH and WEST.

The cross of this center embodies Heaven (Father) and Earth (Mother). The movement of the medicine wheel turns like the wise sun towards these 4 directions, thus aligning with the forces of nature all the elements necessary to reach inner peace in perfect harmony with Nature.
