Corn maiden

Corn Maiden is the goddess of the harvest.

In the Pueblo culture she is "the grandmother of sun and light" and is represented as a corncob. The corn is the absolute symbol of life for the Natives and the legend says that Corn Maiden was created by the great spirit in the palm of Its right hand.

By allowing corn to grow, Corn Maiden grants its people life force and breathe of sunshine into the bodies of humans.

It is said that Corn Maiden brings a seed of corn filled with love, such as the love we  would give to a child, so that this one small seed will feed the entire tribe forever. The Corn Maiden is forever present within the tribe and will watch over each corn seed so that it can grow and provide the people with a bountiful harvest.
