Family of bears carved from marble, apple coral, and turquoise with sterling silver eyes.

This little family is surrounded by a dried tendon strung with small nuggets of turquoise, coral, and jet beads to bring them strength and protection.In Native culture, the bear is symbol of power, strength, health and knowledge.

In a time when the Zuni tribe lived from agriculture and hunting, the hunters couldn't do without these amulets and would never forget to bring them during their expeditions. The fetishes assure benevolence of the soul. Each animal represents its spirit, its own inner force and protects its owner.
