One-of-a-kind piece - Zuni earrings

Stunning Zuni earrings in sterling silver, featuring an inlay depicting a desert scene. They are adorned with mother-of-pearl, coral, black-jet, and Sleeping Beauty turquoise (Arizona).

A triangular scene is depicted on these earrings. The colors were not chosen at random. A small cactus can be seen, topped with three fine lines, creating a delicate illusion of a shooting star.

Other elements reveal a symbolic language unique to Native American jewelry. Each motif tells a story whose deeper meaning belongs to the artist and the tradition from which it originates, leaving room for emotion and interpretation.

Some symbols emerge subtly, such as the staircase shape, evoking clouds and rain, vital and sacred elements.

Inlay is a jewelry-making process masterfully perfected by the Zuni: a composition of real stones (most often turquoise, coral, mother-of-pearl and jet), cut and assembled by hand to create a geometric or figurative pattern. The whole is polished to a smooth, elegant finish.
