Navajo Pottery - One of a Kind piece

This handmade pottery is representative of the contemporary style created by the Navajo, called "etched pottery".

The potters who make this craft make potteries of various sizes, then paint them with beautiful colors (usually gradations of complementary tones). These pieces are then hand-engraved with natural or geometric designs. 

Admire this beautiful gradation from midnight blue to emerald green, then from white to black. The eagle feather patterns, emblematic of Native culture, are particularly recognizable. 

The artist has even decorated the bottom of this pottery with beautiful geometric designs, and put her signature underneath the landscape of the American Western desert.
