Small Pottery - One of a Kind piece

This lovely handmade pottery is a creation from the village of Jemez Pueblo, particularly well-known for its craftswomen who create beautiful red clay pottery.

Jemez village's soil has its distinctive color, a warm and naturally luminous tone. The artists work in a recognizable way to form potteries of all sizes, that they decorate with various designs in natural or geometric shapes, in black and beige pigments. 

This pottery, for example, features feather patterns, emblematic of Native culture.

Each artist takes care to sign his or her work. More than a decorative object, each Jemez pot is a work of art.
