Beautiful Zuni belt buckle in sterling silver inlaid with white mother-of-pearl.

The inlay is a Zuni jewelry technique that consists of hand-cutting real stones (in this case mother-of-pearl) and composing them into a final geometric pattern : here, in scale shape. This belt buckle is a fine example channel inlay process: a marquetry technique where the stone is compartmentalized by thin silver bars.
