Zuni bracelet in sterling silver inlaid of Gaspeite stone.
 

The handmade Zuni inlay is often a gathering of different stones (turquoise, coral, mother-of-pearl, black jet), carved and put together in order to create a thin geometrical pattern. The piece is then polished in order to give a smooth and elegant finish to the jewel. 

Creating this bracelet takes precision, as the artist shapes raw Gaspeite into neat, uniform rectangles. These are then carefully set into a thick silver base, forming a smooth line of perfectly aligned stones. This detailed process showcases the “plain inlay” technique, known for its seamless surface of semi-precious stones.
