One of a Kind piece
Navajo horseshoe ring set with a Kingman turquoise (Arizona) on sterling silver.
The turquoise of this ring is surrounded by a horseshoe, a universal symbol of good luck, and it is enhanced by a leaf and squash blossoms. The squash is an essential food for the Native people; its leaves, shoots and flowers are symbols regularly found in Native American jewelry.
These elements are made with the Applique technique, a traditional Navajo jewelry technique: natural elements (flowers, leaves, feathers) are chiseled into thin silver plates and then soldered to a smooth setting.
