One of a Kind Piece

Hopi ring with a small square Blue Wind turquoise (Nevada) set in sterling silver. 

The ring is made with the overlay technique and is beautifully adorned with hollow bear paw prints in oxidized silver.

The bear is an emblematic animal of the South West of the United States, it is a symbol of strength and power. The print of its paw is a sign of good luck.
 

The overlay is a Hopi jewelry technique in which two flat pieces of the same size are interlocked. The one on top is cut with a pattern and acts as a "stencil". It is applied to the bottom one, creating a silver background. This background is oxidized and scraped to create contrast between the two pieces, as seen here in these bear paw prints.

This ring is made of sterling silver 925/1000.
