Pueblo Pendant - Humming-bird feather 

This feather is inlaid of Kingman turquoise (Arizona), pipestone, apple coral, and white serpentine, on a slice of black-jet.

The Kewa are the masters of this inlay technique, which is emblematic of ancestral Native jewelry, even before sterling silver was introduced in the Southwest of what would later become the United States of America.

In Native culture the humming-bird symbolizes joy, life, beauty, agility and love.
