One of a Kind piece

Navajo necklace in oxidized sterling silver.

Each bead of this necklace is handmade: the artist forms half spheres which are then soldered to create round beads. On each side of the necklace, six beads open into a silver tube whose shape is reminiscent of a blooming flower bud. These beads are a reference to an iconic Native ceremonial necklace: the Squash Blossom, squash being an essential food crop for the Native people and an important symbol of Native American culture.

This same shape is found in a large pattern in the center of the necklace, as a pendant.
