One of a Kind piece

Pueblo necklace made of black-jet Heishi beads (tubular beads) and small round Sleeping Beauty turquoise (Arizona) beads, adorned with a beautiful Zuni inlay pendant. 

This triangular pendant is a nice representation of Zuni's inlay skills, which consist in composing a design and geometrical shapes by cutting and assembling turquoise, stones and other shells. We can see here a "blue bird" resting on a branch inlaid of black-jet and turquoise, framed by an inlay of mother-of-pearl, coral, melo shell and "black pen" shell. The whole is fixed on a black-jet plate and it is polished, for a refined and elegant result.
