- The Originals
Beautiful Pendleton blanket inspired by the Serape fabric.
Although Serape has its roots in Native American weaving, Native American tribes in the Southwest began weaving serape-style blankets in the late 19th century. Originally, natural dyes were red or brown; the introduction of transformed dyes and machine-spunyarn gave birth to brilliant shades and finer stripes, as we can see here.
These pretty vivid colors remind natural elements: for example the shading going from yellow to burgundy and the ones going from beige to blue reminds the colors of a landscape (from the land to the sky).
This serape reproduction blanket stays true to the classic historic style and can serve as a traditional shawl or decorative throw.
